Possible 1972 lincoln cent error..?

    The rim looks doubled on the obverse , is it an error?

    What does the edge look like under Lincoln's bust? It looks as though it has a bit of a ramp effect (not sure what else to call it). Maybe a partial collar error. Hard to tell though.

    For best results, your photos should taken with the face of the coin parallel to the camera lens, so others can see the coin straight on, like this:[​IMG]
    You should also crop out as much background as possible.

    It's a simple Misaligned Die Strike.. Very common on Cents minted in the 1970's and 1980's

    When talking about this minor error you would call it a Double Rim.. not a Doubled Rim. Only use the word Doubled when referring to a Doubled Die.
