Had a productive trip to the flea market today. Along with a huge pile of silver Canadian quarters, a 1981 Austria proof set and 1971 Cyprus UNC set, some attractive (but inexpensive) early UNC Vatican City non-silver, and a lucky pickup of a 90% Israeli silver medal commemorating 10 years of state independence/existence - which I'm still imaging), these are the highlights of the day: 1837 "To Hanover" Token (much better condition than the last one I came across, so I think this one goes into the keeper pile) Germany - Kaiser Wilhelm I Porta Westfalica Aluminum Medal, 1896 (Can't find a similar one online; did find a website - in German - that explains the history behind the Oct 18, 1896 date and monument, but no info on the medal. If anyone is familiar with this, I'd love to learn more about it.) Sterling Silver "Tetragrammaton" Pendant (Obverse w/pentagram, Reverse w/Star of David; I believe it's a Wicca/pagan set of symbols. Can't find an exact match online and if anyone has any info on this specific version, I'd love to hear it.) Meyers Bros Parking System 30 Cent Good Luck Token (I'll be honest...I have no other info on this one. Not marked silver.) And, last, but certainly not least: Canada - 1973 1 Dollar (Yet another gorgeous toner to add to my collection!)
That tetragrammaton medal is really cool, can't say I've seen anything like that before (especially in sterling silver)
