are these of value? I don't think the L is there in the 1969 and the 1971 has a few things like the 1 is not visible and there is a weird detail on the coat too
@Wheels Just kidding... Your Cent is damaged. Worth 1 Cent Post your next coin and question over at the Error Coins section on CoinTalk The what's it worth is more for like gold and rare coins
As others have said, this appears to be die deterioration on the no L, and damage to the 1 on the '71. As to value, let me ask you this: does the coin have a strong strike? Mint luster? Eye appeal? Does the coin look attractive to you? Is it free of discoloration and have minimal bag/contact marks? Does it have significant signs of wear or evidence of circulation? These are the basic questions for appraising and grading a coin. Value is secondary, determined by the former. In fact, value is relative. I have many coins inherited or gifted that are valuable to me beyond what I could sell them for.
I would say for being out there for almost 50 years it does look attractive. I have a few others of the same year and she is the one that stands out the most, it is not clean as I recently found it in change and from the ones I have it is the only one missing the L so that for sure makes it valuable to me. I have to learn to distinguish your other terms lol but I like it very much
