Over the years I picked up a lot of different and strange tokens. One type that has caught my interest lately is the commercial tokens issued at the time of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee in 1897. Has anyone complied a catalog of these tokens? There appears to be several varieties with the 4 Generations of British Royalty obverse dated 1896 and 1897. These appear to come in farthing and half penny size. The obverse was engraved by H. Grueber. There are others such as the Bovril tokens which use the company logos only to congratulate the Queen on her Diamond Jubilee. If you have any information, please post it. I'm very interested in complying this information. http://www.britishmuseum.org/research/search_the_collection_database/term_details.aspx?bioId=51889
This is a farthing size token congratulating Queen Victoria on her Diamond Jubilee. Bovril is a meat extract.
