Does anyone recognize this coin?

    Hi this coin looks like my matron head large cent. But i can only make out two numbers from the date and its a 1 7 and the last two are faded out but i don't think these came out in the 1700s. Thanks

    It’s a Matron head large cent yes but beyond that I can’t tell anything

    That my friend is a large cent. I don't know how you got it but it looks to me someone found it metal detecting at some point

    Thanks I have a few other dates that looks way better and are still copper colored. It's just that this one has a 17 where the 18 should be

    I dropped that out of my pocket yesterday if you would like to return it.
    I don't think they made those in the late 1700's. That would be a different obverse. Yours is facing left, that's 1800's.
