Ah ha, the desired result. My nefarious plan is starting to take shape Just stare into Mr. Cornies eye Kurt and it will be okay. Reed and Sparkles the Unicorn.
Exactly, because Ecuador and/or Bolivia went to the US Dollar to control their inflation. The US gov't didn't want to give them paper to print $20's on like in Colombia, so they sent bags of SBAs down by the proverbial plane load. Solved a couple of problems.
Don't let the "true believers" mess with your mind, Reed. Silver is an evil substance, just not AS evil as gold is.
In post #29 I think I offered a few for the price of postage. True, though, a top notch collection of IHCs could set you back.
I like the idea of the Lincoln proofs if you haven’t done it. I put together slabbed proof sets for 1938 through 1942 and had a blast. The ‘36 and ‘37 Lincoln proofs would be the only really pricey ones in that set.
I guess everything depends on how much you want to spend. If you are on a limited budget then Jefferson's or Roosevelt dimes are good. If you want a little bit of this and that and learn a little history as well, working on a type set can be rewarding.
I could do Lincoln slabs to kick off and it might “feel” okay. Plus Sparkles likes the idea. Reed & Sparkles
Well here it is. First slab I’ve ever bought and second slab EVER. I PAID $8.70 delivered for the Lucite and 5 cents for the coin. Lol. But I’m still looking at other suggestions and I’m leaning towards Ike dollars to pair as a set. It won’t take long to gather this set and I’ve got a a major local show coming up soon so we are still looking at options. Sparkles is still on the fence! Reed & not happy Sparkles.
Keep "sus ojos" open for the Type 2's. Hey, I wonder if anyone ever "whipped out" a microscope and checked out the islands near Florida on THESE. [He ducks to dodge a thrown microscope.]
@V. Kurt Bellman As soon as I receive this coin I’ll super eyeball it with my vintage peeper inhancer. Reed. (Sparkles is in time out right now)
