And that's as it should be, there IS a heaping' helpin' of angry dissent in my heart. I'm WIRED to be an active dissenter, it's kind of my raison d'être, if we're being honest. Example: I once took the entire RCIA course process (Roman Catholic Indoctrination for Adults). The normal process ends with Confirmation. I took the ENTIRE course before announcing to the Bishop that I was reneging because I knew it was inappropriate to be a "from Day One" active doctrinal dissident Catholic. Dissent and status as a dissident is something I admire greatly. But if we're truly going to have a polite society going forward, it has to be every bit as okay for me to be an active dissenter, as it is for them to blaze their own trail. See? Tolerance cannot be a one-way street. Pretending that I'm not a dissenter to the coming "new wave" of numismatic thought would be intellectually dishonest. It simply has to be sufficient that I promise to try to understand it without buffaloing anyone I'll ever accept it.
Tolerance takes 2, and two matching coins make a Die! It's a culmination of die markers for modern coinage. That is what makes this Hobby fun for me.
By the way, my type of "dissent" makes me a "unique" figure across the street in the Capitol building. I know precisely what I think about EVERY issue, and I defend what I believe assiduously. What makes me unique is I disagree with BOTH political parties' orthodoxy about 40% of the time, the last time we measured it. Yet I'm paid by one of them. Almost EVERYONE else over there is a "true believer" of one "tribe" or the other. My nickname over there is "The Radical Centrist." One of the lawyers calls me "The Lunatic Swiss Watch Maker".
Nothing, I said was meant to be personal, only observational. I dissent, A little respect for my Elders in this instance. Thanks for keeping me on my Toe's.
Yo' toes be jus' fine. I am very happy with the way I presently am. I'm not complaining, just celebrating the freedom I feel.
Speaking of 2010 shield pennies I wonder if any copper ones were made by mistake since in 2009 there were copper ones in the mint and proof sets?
The proof Lincolns were struck in San Francisco. The possibility of a 2010s Proof may exist, but not a Philly or a Denver.
Sarah, you're not old!! And I love that you're trying to learn and pass on to your children. While I agree with posts about your coin, I find it fascinating that you spotted this. Not worth face value but a great find for your skill level.
Careful! The cents is the P and D mint sets were ALSO bronze, and not Zincolns. The idea is still a VERY long shot, but the right blanks for this to happen WERE in Philly and Denver. And by the way, ALL proof Zincolns are plated with double the thickness of copper as the circulating ones. A fully complete set of 2009 Lincoln cents consists of 20 coins.
Guess I'll take my Double Dyed coins elsewhere Yes, I know that "d" is on the wrong misspelled word ...
