What Books are in your Numismatic Collection?

I just ordered my first coin collecting book. I am sure there will be more after this one. This one is hardcover. For some unknown reason, I just prefer hardcover books.

An awful lot. Some highlights is a complete set of the Gobrecht journal bowers silver dollar encyclopedia the book on early dimes of course Sheldon on large cents Overton in half dollars. Assorted books on early gold and a lot of the important auction catalogs including John j Ford Eliasberg Nafzger Garrett etc. I have most of the major books on pre 1900 US coinage

 

I've tried to limit myself based on shelf space. I have a handful of signed books. Off the top of my head, I have a hardbound 3rd edition VAM book signed to me by Leroy Van Allen. a 1965 pre-VAM hardbound Morgan Dollar variety book by Leroy Van Allen signed to mint director Eva Adams, the Cohen American Half Cents, signed by Cohen and attendees of the 1982 "half cent happening" (lots of big names), Paul Rayner's personal (and signed) copy of Seaby/Rayner English Silver Coins, a current Photograde signed by Ken Bressett, Rick Snow's 2 volume Indian Cent book, signed #7 of the first 200, the original Top 100 Morgan book signed by Jeff Oxman and Michael Fey in 1996, Mark Goodman's Numismatic Photography book signed to me with inscription, "You don't need this."

A couple shelves of other books, including but not limited to Breen's half cent book, Sheldon, Newcomb, Grellman's late large cents, Kline SLQs, Overton 3rd edition, Peterson Bust Halves, Reiver Bust dollars, Bowers Commemorative Coin Encyclopedia, Roger Burdette's From Mine to Mint and 2nd and 3rd "Renaissance" books, Taxay, Wayne Miller Morgan/Peace Textbook, Brown & Dunn grading book (line drawings) from the early '60s (cost me 75c at an ANA book sale), a couple linear feet of auction catalogs.

 

I guess an interesting question would be does anyone have more books than coins? Perhaps we should include magazines in the total.

 

As far as coins in my own collection yes. I’m down to about one 20 coin box. I have a lot for sale though
