and technically now my post is the first post so if its a tie i gues sill come out on top (fat chance but i am on a roll)
Th epics of the Morgans are still quite small, but I'll go with it. One other thing, it might have better if you had asked for our guesses to be sent to you privately instead of posted here for all to see. 1882-S - MS64 PL 1879-S - MS64 PL 1948 - MS65 FBL 1913 - PF65 RD 1954-S/D - MS64 1939 - MS64 ( there is no mint mark on this coin but you named it as an S ) 1940 - MS65 1936 - PF64 RB 1880 - PF63 CAM
Oh man, didn't think of that. Might have worked out a bit better that way. I'll keep that in mind for future contests. Contest ends in 2 hours guys! No more answers will be accepted after 8 pm eastern time. Hope y'all are having fun. Phoenix
Oh and a clue, no one has gotten the 1936 cent right yet. For those that haven't guessed yet. Phoenix
Okay everybody, here are the points: codydude815: 30 points Speedy: 13 points mralexanderb: 8 points 1877: 10 points spock1k: 30 points DJCoins: 44 points GDJMSP: 17 points Wow, this took a neat turn. Now the 1936 Proof cent I didn't award anyone points, because some named the correct grade, but I was also looking for a little more than that. My orignal post I said to name what was on the slab also, referring to this. The grade assigned to it was: PR 63 R Brilliant Finish. A bit of a twist there. But no biggie, thought I would clarify why I didn't assign points to that coin. Here are the correct grades to all the coins: 1. 1882 S Morgan Dollar: MS 62 PL 2. 1879 S Mrogan Dollar: MS 64 3. 1948 Fanklin Half: MS 66 FBL 4. 1913 Lincoln Cent: PR 65 R 5. 1954 S/D Jefferson Nickel: MS 66 6. 39 S Walker: MS 66 7. 1940 Walking Libety Half: MS 67 8. 1936 Lincoln Cent: PR 63 R Brilliant Finish 9. 1880 Sheild Nickel: PR 63 Cameo If I didn't assign the right points to you please let me know and I will change them. Hope you all enjoyed that round, now the next round prepare yourselves for, it's going to be coin trivia and miscellaneous. Remember, everyone can play if you want too, this contest is open for all. Hope y'all are having fun. Phoenix
Well that Franklin sure messed me up--- Being a 1948 you would think it would have a great strike but I see a few "worn" spots and the carbon spot also would have cut it back. IMHO this coin was given a bump because of the toning. There are bagmarks in the main area...on the cheek, near the front of the hair, near the middle of the hair.... I'm not trying to make up for missing that one but I think it was overgraded Speedy
no no you have it all wrong we may have the sma enumbe rof points but since i answered before you did i am techinically second (just pulling your leg)
1. MS 65 DMPL 2. MS 64 PL 3. MS 63 FBL 4. Matte PR 64 RB 5. MS 65 S/D 6 MS 66 7. MS 63 8. Brilliant Proof 64 RD 9 PR 65 CAM There is my guess

I would think a more accurate assessment would be that some of the members made some very, very lucky guesses :secret:
