Die Break? 2003 penny

    Is this what's considered a die break or something like that? Non the less I know it's in bad condition but this helps be understand if there's a different. I have more of these with small cracks but this is the most drastic.

    Nope. Looks like PMD to me and the underlying zinc is starting to rot out.

    no, that does not look like a die crack, that looks incuse, cracks are raised metal on the coin...

    Hey thanks . Off the subject:The moderator for this site told be Rockwell testing was done only on the die. I read that not to be true . They are done on planchet s too. This site you shared just verify that again. Thanks this site has alot of goodies to dive into :)

    I just told her this and got a good reply back. I still have questions but I will have to do more research first. I put that site in my front page for easy access.
