These pictures are awful cause I can't get a good zoom. Looks like Abe was slid over. At first I thought just color stain but texture is different. Copper parts have crackling all over too possible from being pushed kinda like icing on a cake after it hardens some. Double above and next to letters. I changed filter on one pic so you can see the w next to the w in We. Above" In God " doubling appear to be smaller letters like the word god above god is tiny in comparison. Seems this coin was stamped at least three times.
Not a Doubled Die The lettering looks the way it does because of a worn Die issue, plating issue or a Stutter Strike.
Out of nine different types of double dies ? With my magnifying glass I see the actual lines of the "in God right above it. Sorry the pics didn't turn out. Camera on my phone...go figure.
That's a neat website. But I don't see the double die. It should be fairly obvious. of course, I'm not an expert but so many people are trying to "wish" their coins to be true ...
I can clearly see what you are talking about and I still say it has nothing to do with Hub Doubling. I gave you the answer. The correct numismatic terminology is Doubled Die.. not double die That website you provided incorrectly uses the word. Read here.. A professional website! http://doubleddie.com
Can I ask you something? What exactly are you seeing with my coin. No professional terms just want it looks like to you. Like do you see the W to the left of the W and the words In God above the words In God?
Yes I see it. From the time I saw your first pictures. I gave you my opinion on what it could be. I have seen what you have a few times before. What I do know it has nothing to do with Hub Doubling which creates a Doubled Die.
Plus that site has the same info as the one I shared. What's the original ,the first strike called where it's etched ( stamped ) in the coin
Trust me I'm not asking these questions with an attitude or anything. Trust me . People take me wrong alot. I've had people blow up on me thinking since I had a question it was with an attitude. Then it's a chain reaction cause the next one sees that reply and is like yep attitude let me chime in. Then the whole point is lost.lol
I never thought you had an attitude. It's great to ask questions and want to understand. Just seemed like you didn't understand what I was trying to tell you.
