Have just started to add my half pennies to my online collection, unfortunatly this is not a strong part LOL the Edward VII are all quite worn this was due to a thin rim on the britanni side of the coin, causing them to wear very badly. I also do have a couple of William & Mary but the dates are not visable and again quite worn so have not added them Here are the highlights so far 1697 1/2d Halfpenny Brittania seated William III 1694-1702 1700 1/2d Halfpenny Brittania seated William III 1694-1702 1774 1/2d Halfpenny Brittania seated George III 1760-1820 1806 1/2d Halfpenny Soho mint Birmingham Brittania seated George III 1760-1820 1807 1/2d Halfpenny Soho mint Birmingham Brittania seated George III 1760-1820 1853 1/2d Halfpenny Brittania seated holding trident with shamrock/rose/thistle in ex Queen Victoria 1837-1901 1861 1/2d Halfpenny Brittania seated holding trident, lighthouse & ship Queen Victoria 1837-1901 1862 1/2d Halfpenny Brittania seated holding trident, lighthouse & ship Queen Victoria 1837-1901 Let me know what you think :thumb:
I'm guessing all your W&Ms are 1694....if you've got the earlier tin ones they are worth £100 in the most appalling condition. Basically, if they are copper they are 1694...
Hi searching a doubled 6 or doubled date 1861 halfpenny...I saw an example in London coins auctions.( very slight but distinct)..which made me think that my error coin might be cosha the coin is in poor condition but i think this is a wildly doubled date...am I right ?
