The Eclectic Box needed some more US material. I just pulled the trigger on this beautiful Buffalo, and am feeling pretty stoked about it. Just for fun, I've added a GTG poll, and after 25 votes are counted, I'll post a spoiler link to reveal the grade. I'm not done with US coins today. Gonna go shoot another PM to @ToughCOINS when I finish this, and pull the trigger on one of his, too.
In an homage to @mikenoodle re. the outtakes at the end of Episode 125 of The Coin Show Podcast (which I just listened to on my commute home from work), I was gonna add an "I'm in the mood for tacos" option in the poll, but I ran out of room.
I see some evidence that this coin circulated, But I think they gave it the benefit of the doubt. MS63 That's one perty Buffalo.
It's like a newt, but with a longer tail. "Newp" or "NewP" stands for New purchase. She turned me into a newp, once!
I said 64. The obverse was a 66, but the reverse had several distracting marks in the prime focal area. I guess a 65 net grade is within reason.
Well my Ed Wood guess is MS65. I too had it at MS66 until scrolling down to the reverse image. Beautiful example regardless of the numerical grade. Eye appeal is king...
I couldn't agree more. Speaking of Ed Wood, whatever happened to @ed wood 654, anyway? He was entertaining, in a bizarre sort of way.
