2007 D Wyoming 25C w/striations.

    While checking out my 2 US mMint sets I found that the 2007 D Wyoming quarter had these striations on the obverse going from the 11 o'clock position to the 7 o"clock position. These lines are also on Washington's neck.
    I'll post a scan so it can be compared with any others out there.

    Any comments as to what caused these lines? All would be appreciated.

    This scan was taken through the original gov't packaging, but I can assure you there has been no tampering with the scan shown.

    It appears that a mint employee got a bit over-zealous when polishing that die.

    I looked at these lines through many angles and at different magnifictions & I'm SURE they are not on the packaging but on the coin. It may not be much, but sometimes it doesn't take too much to make one happy. I'd like your opinions.

    Looks kind of neat though. Looks like he has rays radiating out from behind him,almost like the 1853 quarter with rays behind the eagle. I like it!

    That might have been a small amount of grease on the die, similar to the 'starburst' dollars. Although, it just looks like die fatigue.
