1945 Merc. dime.Error or broken die?

    Badly damaged. Solder added, coin bent

    Not an error of any type - sorry

    Fred, It`s not solder I tried melting it awhile back,it`s part of the coinif you were holding it you can see how it comes right up from the rim.

    Whatever it is, it's been added to the coin, imo.

    What did you try melting it with? Silver solder would require the use of a torch. A soldering iron won't begin to touch it. About 600 degrees too low.
