I came across this 1999 P dime. Roosevelt's head is fine but the back side is odd. Is this a mint error or man made markings? I hope it's someone's cruel attempt at a joke in which they've vandalized currency and made one foolish man think that he's possibly on to something.
Someone ground off the reverse. This did not happen at the mint. Therefore it would be an error to suppose this was a mint error.
Thank you for the clarification. I'm going to hang on to it in hopes that no other poor sap will think that they've stumbled across something special.
