Vcoins, an online "mall" of coin dealers. The dealers are generally reputable. Good if you want to buy something now rather than at auction.

Numisbids (for auction listings; you'll find dozens of auction houses through this portal)

Classical Numismatic Group (CNG) is probably the biggest ancient coin dealer/auction house in the US. They have electronic auctions, live auctions, and a coin store.

If you're specifically after a Pegasus/Athena stater from Corinth, use search terms "Corinth stater". The style of coin was issued by several other cities during that period, so if you are willing to consider one of those other cities, broaden the search terms to "stater, athena, pegasos"

Note that spelling may affect search results. In some places you'll see "Pegasos" and others "Pegasus".

With Pegasus on reverse, this coin has Perseus on obverse just like Alegandron's. It weighs 11.64 g.

Hmm. On the right side below every post which you did not write, you should see the post number, Like, +Quote, and Reply:

On your own posts the Like link is absent. Perhaps were looking at your own post when noticing the lack of a Like "button"?

    Hey there,
    Another question?
    I found a coin I like.. https://www.vcoins.com/en/stores/numiscorner/239/product/coin_corinthia_corinth_stater_ef4045_silver_pegasi4211/940836/Default.aspx

But..when I look up this coin on Ebay..it appears in three separate auctions with three separate prices??
    Same coin photo each time?
    What gives?

    Any ideas?
    The first is by: numis_corner
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/508719-Coin-Corinthia-Corinth-Stater-EF-40-45-Silver-Pegasi-421-1/202158155552?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649

    The second by: cdma59
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/508719-Coi...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649

The third auction for the same coin/photo is by: cdma59 as well?
I realize coins can look alike but i'm a pro photographer and know when a photo is the same or not.
Are these auctions to be trusted?
    Best,
    Bill

Many Vcoin sellers also sell on Ebay, so that is not a problem. Usually the cost on Ebay is higher than the cost on Vcoins, but not always. As for the multiple listings on Ebay I have no idea unless the seller is fishing for the best price. They are all "Buy Now" sales, so there is no auction.

Bing answered your question but I have a question for you. What attracts you to this particular coin? It seems rather high in price relative to grade/style/strike/surfaces/state of preservation. Then again... I just took a look at the rest of the current crop of fixed price Corinth staters on Vcoins... wow. The prices for almost all of them seemed rather steep.

Take a look at CNG's archives (the e-auctions, since that's where you'll find the lower priced specimens). They are in reverse chronological order so you can quickly get an idea of current values, at least at auction.

Have you considered buy a coin at auction? Don't forget to tack figure in the Buyer's Premium (and exchange rate, perhaps). CNG has an auction every other Wednesday and of course there are ancient coin auctions around the world every week.

    Thanks,
I guess I wasn't looking at it 'numistatically' as much as I was aesthetically.
The Athena face is striking, good amount of expression and detail. Same with the Pegasus.
    The shapes are aligned nicely.
    Looks cleaned well.
    Not too much wear.
    An I like the silver.

I'm still curious if anyone has a good idea how/why they can post on Ebay 3 different price 'bids/buys' on the same photo?
    Seems fishy.
The seller company Numiscorner is not very good at communication i've found.
They are also not very flexible in their price either.
    I believe i'll pass.

    I haven't checked out auctions.
    Maybe I should.
I'm sorta just looking for one coin to be a good luck token in a retirement venture my wife and I are taking on.
Ebay has always been quick and easy as far as finding 'stuffs'.
    Thanks!
