Ok, this thread was inspired by another thread where I had an 1883 Morgan that was struck with a rusty reverse die. A lot of others chimed in with some great examples. So I wanted to start a thread to show off these very cool coins. They don't have to be limited to Morgans. So if you have a coin that was struck with a rusty die, show us.
I'll start this one off with the reverse of the 1883 Morgan VAM-11a. This is a large file and you can click on it to see it at 100%. The eagle looks like it had small pox.

This was a VF30 CAC. I auctioned it off and it went too cheap. :( $195.

I don't have much in terms of rusty dies, but this 1794 cent (variety S-24) is well known for having been struck with a rusty obverse die, as can be seen from the rough patch below the neck.

I guess the mint back in 1794 can be forgiven for little mishaps like this!

1921 VAM-3C2. Not the prettiest but it was a cheap raw pick.

I need to go through my collection and see what else I have to contribute to this thread. :)

What originally looked to me like a bad case of solder on a coin is actually a VERY bad case of rusted dies.
This is a 1943 Japanese Occupation of Manchukuo (China) 5 fen aluminum coin.
It happened a lot with their aluminum coins.
