Have no Clue what this is!?

    Hi everyone.. First let me thank you for joining the group. Parden my ignorance as I am not an avid coin collector but I came across this cleaning out a relatives house after they passed. I was wondering what it may be it looks pretty interesting.
    I have no weight for it, the size is about an inch. Ill show exact size with pics. It is NOT magnetic. Anything else that may help just ask! Thanks!

    Welcome to the site.
    Google the letters on the coin.

    US New England Colonial Coinage (Fakes are possible) 1652 to 1682

    I did.. And it brought me here pretty much. how do I tell if this is a fake? What am I looking for, whats the chances this is a fake, etc...

    Hi, That's a Pine Tree Shilling.The odds of it being an authentic piece are slim. Here's a link for you to check out. Compare your coin to the pics and see if you can match it to any of them. http://www.pcgscoinfacts.com/Coin/Detail/45369

    That is a poor quality fake of a pine tree shilling.

    It is a cast copy, which is why it looks so bubbly and bumpy.
