I was taking some coin photos for my friend, and hewas looking for my jeeferson nickel album. He asked "how much did you pay for this '39 DDR?" I asked him what he was talking about, and sure enough, it was a 1939 DDR. The best thing about it was that i found that coin in a bank roll! Its in Ef-40 almost 45. So, im happy! :D

I don't know about the different dies, primarily because i don't collect errors. I'll search around on the internet for it, but if this helps any, my friend (who is the biggest jefferson nickel geek ever) said it was the big one.

DDR stands for double die reverse. In this DDR you should look at the lettering below the Montecello

Well if you search around you might get different answers from different collectors ;) If you have the CP's guide VOL-1 you can check out the pics.

It's good to be back on my normal computer---now that I can see the photos better I agree that it would be Die 2.

The last "O" in that word is the one that looks the most doubled IMHO. Also FIVE CENTS is also strongly doubled. Now if you are looking for DIE #2 the doubling won't be as notable...but you would still be able to tell it with a nice glass.
