Sorry everyone I'm new to the coin hunting so thanks for taking the time to help and thanks I have a 1973 quarter the word liberty all the letters are spaced to close together I compared with many other quarters and everyone but this one was the same difference is very noticeable when comparing and on the other side there is a line from the beak going up to the bottom of the a I will try to get a photo of this as best I can there is also one from the bottom of the beak like there is extra metal there is this a mint mistake?
That is also another heavily circulated coin. Wear can show as all forms of displaced metal. Blending letters in the motto is common for worn coins. The coin you are comparing this worn coin to is probably a coin with less wear and a better strike. As a new collector you should focus more on trying to find coins that are in perfect condition. As you find better coins you will gain more knowledge in the coining process. This knowledge will lead you to discovering what is an error and what is not an error.
The line from the beak is hard to tell if it is a scratch or die crack/gouge. The line looks really straight for a die crack. Could be, but, a better picture is needed. Since, the coin is worn die cracks and such are hard to differentiate from scratches or other damage.
I should have read his post better. @Tito1870 Why are you showing a 1980 something quarter obverse in your pic? Where is the pic of the 1973 obverse? Is that reverse pic of the 1973 or 1980 something quarter? I voted no in this poll. Too bad there is not a poll option for a reply. I could post a poll to a poll.
The 73 is under the the 80 something as you put it so I could try and show the difference in the liberty spacing but my bad I did know they allow people you sound like there stuck up there on you know so have fun getting your jollys off to acting like a child with a key board

Check the diameter and thickness of your coin, and then pick 5 sample coins to measure. I have an 1988 D Nickle that is smaller in diameter, and I believe it might be out of spec,(That will be a whole other post) The standard diameter is about 0.835" and thickness is about.075" My nickle is 0.827" diameter and 0.085" thick. The lettering looks smaller compared to standard size coins.
