From being pressed against another coin, maybe squeezed in a vice. You would be surprised how often they are seen here!
Hello Steven. Every coin is different. And every instance of what you are asking can occur in different ways such as the one stated in the previous post... Please provide more information such as the coin you have the question about and some pictures.
Here are a few pictures. Looks as if it has two or more impressions in it. Also if you look at the center of the M in America the is what looks to be a error
Take 2 cents. Put the reverse of one against the obverse of the 2nd coin. Wrap in a towel and place them in a vise. Tighten as hard as you can and then some. The result will bee what you have. A very common practice to try and create an error but only creating PMD or Post Mint Damage. Welcome to CT.
