I have a raw 1881 DMPL that I was going to submit to PCGS for grading, then I saw the rim damage @ 12 and 2 o'clock. I suspect this will prevent it grading if I submit. Thoughts? Thanks. See pictures below:

Does not look like it was removed from jewelry so I think it will grade straight.

    It's fine to submit.

Those aren't hairlines in the left and right fields?

Those rim marks will not preclude a straight grade. The only thing that may prevent a straight grade are the possible hairlines pointed out by @Dougmeister. If those are simply polishing lines then you should be fine, but if they are from wiping or cleaning, then it won't grade.

With how they’re grading right now that may details it, but I agree that it shouldn’t and it does have a chance it won’t.

Not worth grading imo, send it to Anacs or as some others suggest> ICG....

I'd need to see both sides, but based on the obverse, I don't think it will get a DMPL. Like others have said, it looks to have hairlines and will only get a Details grade.
