I have in the past been accused of being a little fanatical about 1827 bust halves. I don't know why...doesn't EVERYONE have a couple of hundred of them?
German 5 Mark stand out here but except for the common states they can get expensive. There are also all the various mints of the Mexico 8 reals. You will never run out of coins to find.
Right now? EAC. I just picked a 1797 Large Cent that could be a rare S-121a. Usually I’m interested in obscure scarce Seated coins, Liberty gold, and UK coins.
Jake, that is the one coin I need to complete a 1940 - 1964 uncirculated set! They do seem to appear less often than many others.
I need to get my 7070 CBH's but I cant find any within my price range. Or at least I cant find any nice coins in my price range ha. @okbustchaser
My favorite at this time are any Morgans (like many collectors) I have a lot of them. Next would be Walkers in high grade only, lower grade were my first coins to collect back in the 60's
you can get some cheap in low grades but if you want AU or XF you're gonna to be paying a pretty penny for them.
Right now, and I can't figure out why, are the cupro-nickel 5 shilling and 25p crowns from the UK. Probably stems in part from my fascination with the Monarchy, and also my interest in the Pound Sterling, particularly the old £sd system. In fact, today's pocket piece du jour is a 1960 crown that was part of a lot of 3 I bought on Ebay for $4 a few months ago.
Some of the first coins I ever connected were those old (80s maybe) British pound coins. The really thick heavy ones ha I wonder where those went d:
For my first 7070 I've been buying as nice as I can but I bought some damaged coins in xf+ details for ten or less so I really liked those for now and then I'll Upgrade later. But I'm making a damaged coin 7070 called the life of a coin ha
