I was thinking about starting a world currency collection and started to look around the internet and ebay for good deals on different notes. Although UNC is the desired condition, I don't wish to spend the money some dealers are asking. So I may have to settle for lesser grades. I'm currently looking for Sri Lanks Rupees 1979 series. Does anybody know of a reputable dealer(s) that might offer circulated grades of ANY notes that fit my budget. Much appreciated.
Dude! My problem is finding lower grades that don't cost more than uncirculated. I kiddest thou not, verily.
What may compare with "lower grades"? Consider a 100 rial Iraqi stained with chai... and glowing with depleted uranium dust. With my budget, 'reputability' is not a problem... fakes in that price range are a real "find"!
Indeed Sir, an Ancient Text from the Holy Writ of CT. The angst of the Author from that distant time carries through the Ages to... this our Present Day... Evoking a recognition in the Latter Day Reader of a shared condition. Speaking of "Lost Horizons"... URL posts of Ebay items here on CT are like "Star Notes in the Wind".
I know that the original post is from long ago but as this thread has been revived there may be others who are interested in an up to date answer to the question. I have been happy with a small number of purchases I have made from user rigiddesign on Ebay. He sell almost exclusively currency from all over the world, has over 2000 active listing, and currently has listed some of the notes that the OP was asking about.
There is a scarcity in grade for bottom feeders like me. Desirable Karmic "rags" often cost more than VF to Unc... ...when postage is added in and the dealer has no more items I crave.
