    Hello all

Since I had a Marcus Aurelius Denarius, I needed a Faustina II to go with him. Looked around and found this one for $30 shipped. Ended up buying it from my friend on the east coast again.

Obverse: FAUSTINA AUGUSTA diademed, draped bust right
Reverse: SAECULI (I think) FELICIT with Commodus and his brother on a draped throne. FaustinaII.jpg

Not the greatest of condition, but for the price I can't complain.

    Thanks for looking...Mont

Nice with even wear, you can see most of the devices. For $30 you can't go wrong.

Thanks all!! Thanks for the photos too. Some very nice coins there.

@Roman Collector you mentioned that yours was minted circa AD 161. Would mine be the same? Wildwinds doesn't give a date range for this RIC#

My next one will be a one from Valerian I, it is already on it's way here. Will post a photo when I get it. So get your Valerians ready to go.;)

I know I am all over the place with these, but I am starting out by buying what I like. I tend to get a new Emperor and just have to get one from his Empress next. So for now I have a very small Emperor/Empress set with no real direction. :)

Yes, yours would be dated the same. It's one of the few Faustina II coins that can be dated because it celebrates the birth of her twin sons and we know when they were born.

@MontCollector -- just be aware that getting a coin of Valerian's wife Mariniana will cost you quite a bit more than one portraying her hubby.

Thank you...My files have been updated to add this.

I was afraid of this. I did notice there weren't very many different ones issued of Mariniana.

Her hubby cost me $45. Purchased it from a CT member. So far it is the most I have ever spent on an ancient. It will also be my nicest one by FAR as you will see. Can't wait to get it.
