Do you think these are mint state? I don't see any worn spots but not a lot of mint luster either.
    Thanks

Nope. They look XF or maybe even AU. Also, something about them leads me to believe they’re counterfeit. I can’t quite put my finger on it but they don’t look genuine.

AU for both. Probably 58 due to the luster. Just a hint of wear.

No. I think even AU is high.

Thanks all. Counterfeit seems very unlikely. These came from my mother's safe deposit box. Probably got them from her parents long ago, at least 20 years. Cleaning them sounds like something my grandmother would do so that's possible. But I don't intend to turn loose of them so it's ok.

Where are you seeing the wear, just above her ear?

Just do not look right to me. Have you used a magnet? Have you looked at the edges? Reeds?

I’m not sure about the grade but I still have a feeling they’re counterfeit (although I don’t know why someone would go through the trouble for such a common coin). Try a magnet and weigh the coins if possible.

A magnet doesn't stick. Weight is 27 g for both on my scale (spec is 26.73 g), diameter is 38.14 and 38.16 mm (spec is 38.1 mm). I don't know exactly what to look for on the reeds but looks normal to me. They seem to be weak strikes, especially the reverse.

All of that is pretty much spot on. Nice job- you did your research :p. They’re most likely real unless someone made a very convincing fake. I’m surprised because the color is very strange (usually isn’t this dull).

This image from peacedollars.com looks just like mine as far as I can tell. Similarly weak on the reverse, especially E PLURIBUS and PEACE.
