OK, the biggest highlight for me this past week is I found another Barber Halve 1909S. At first I thought it was a foreign coin due to how much is was warn down, but once I saw the face, I was pretty excited. In the box with the Barber, I also found 64 40%er's, 4 1964, and 1 walking liberty. Strange enough, all the other boxes with the same date had hardly anything. Also found this past week 1928 Buffalo Nickel 1938D Jefferson Nickel (filled another spot in my book) 1997S Jefferson Proof
Awesome box! I've only had one box that was that lucky... So I'm holding out hope that there're more! Have a great Thanksgiving!
Just when I keep thinking I will never see another box like that again, I find another one. This has been the third jackpot box for me in about 3 months (granted I go through about 20 boxes a week). Here's hoping the luck won't run out.
20 a WEEK? Geez. I wish I (a): had enough capital for that and (b): had a bank that would order me that much. I have a hard enough time getting them to order me FOUR boxes. (Though I've got two banks regularly, and a third that'll throw in a box when they have enough quota room..) Incidentally, it's been quite a while since my last jackpot box. For November (17 boxes), everything I've been through basically equal your one box -- the totals being: 18-90% 57-40% 17-1987/2002+ 2 Proofs Did manage to pull at 1925 Canadian Cent the other day, though... Nothing else really of note...
I only need about half that capital as I use multiple banks for ordering and multiple banks for cashing the coins in. For about 90% of the boxes, I'm lucky if I get 4 silver coins. It's the handful of boxes with more that make up for it (not to mention the occasional jackpot box).
half dollars. they are $500 a box and you usually have to ask them to order you one. or if you go up to a teller and ask for halves there is a possibily there could be one in the rolls or loose halves the teller gives you! its all about luck.
Tip: Don't go to the bank/through rolls expecting/seeking a particular coin. That'll get frustrating rather quickly. Instead, be happy with what you do find, rather than what you don't.
All the banks around here will get only a bag of $1000 in halfs, no boxes. Im guessing the boxes are rolled halfs and the bags come out of the sorting machines. Did order a bag of halfs, should be in tuesday. Cant wait. Hope i can post some finds like you guys do.
I just ordered another box of halfs. Are the bags better for finding silver? If they are I will try a bag next.
