I'm planning on being at this show, the first one I have done in two years, and I'm hoping to see some of you there! Please let me know if you are going to attend, and by all means come by and say hello at the show. Ask for George or VDB Coins, and most folks there will know me. The weather that close to the Smoky Mountains can be kinda iffy, but usually it turns out to be better than what is predicted. But it's nice and warm inside. And the food is great, since it's a professional caterers! Around 50 tables, a decent-sized show with material that is better than you might expect. **Hours: ** Friday Feb. 2, 10 am–6 pm Saturday Feb 3, 9 am–5 pm. Travel safely, and y'all come see me and the other dealers in attendance! Kind regards, George
Vdb coins. Yea i will be there. Im the long hair error guy. Steve. Make shur you bring me some good inexpensive errors. Also looking fot affordable seated $'s. Yes, for a smaller show it is amazing the inventory. You truly can fin just about anything you are looking for. See you there George!!!!!
See you there, but unfortunately the only errors I have are errors in judgment. Oh wait .... maybe I do! Kind regards, George
I plan on being there. I have been involved with collecting coins for over 50+ years. Until recent years I had never heard of the the "SMS" coins of 1964. On another forum George was discussing these coins. Later at this show I asked him about them. He discussed the coins at length with me. This to me is a sign not only of a true NUMISMATIST but also a GENTLEMAN. We had never met prior to the discussion. Hopefully he will write a detailed article so the rest of us can learn more about these modern day rarities. Thank you George.
@steve.e Yes I am. N.E. Tenn. Johnson City. At this time I collect Early Dated European coins. I do try to pick up a few U.S. for my grandson. I will be making a stop at the West Town Mall food court to eat at Sbarro's Pizza. It's all a matter of priorities!!
I just heard about the 64 SMS too. I looked through my coins and found a 64 Kennedy 1/2 dollar that sure looks like it. I sent it in for grading. I should be back soon.
I hate to burst your bubble but the odds are very, very long against it ... not impossible, but overwhelmingly low. I get such emails pretty regularly but a true 1964 SMS half has never turned up. But you did what most do not ... send it in to PCGS (I hope) for grading and authentication. So, best wishes for that! Kind regards, George
Bad news, my daughter is coming down from Michigan this weekend. I will not be able to make the show. Sorry. I did take a look at your site though. Nice coins.
