Going through some Lincolns I set aside to check for errors and came across this 1953.Is this a die break? I see a die scratch that went into the 3 and it looks like it broke off also the 3 looks doubled.See photos.

    Thanks

No not a Die Break nor Die Crack
A Die Break or Crack is on the Die itself that strikes the Blank Planchet. When the coin is struck the metal from the blank flows into the break and so it appears raised on the coin. Yours is a scratch because it is incused into the field.

Sorry - not a die break. Here is an example of one. WIN_20180125_21_31_25_Pro.jpg

Is it possible the die scratch was the cause of the piece of 3 missing. The scratch curves into the 3 and it looks attached to the 3 underneath. The 3 looks doubled to me.What's your thoughts on this.
    Thanks,

The piece of the three was displaced by the scratch, not missing.
