Dimes are not plated, they are clad with a solid copper core and outer layers of 85% copper and 25% nickel. When viewed from the edge, they'll look sort of like an oreo cookie. Your coin looks normal to me.
ok but shouldn't it be a shiny color instead of having lines all over it? as if it skipped the next plating stage?
I think he may have meant missing clad layer the way he explained it to me in pm anyway it goes this dime is normal.
I can see what you are referring to on your coin. I believe that those striations are caused by the rolling mill that bonds the clad layers together in the strip. @mikediamond could help you with that but you may need clearer photos.
