I just got a chance to get back to this thread. I noticed the Type B and Type C instantly. I've been looking for both for a long time and have come up with nodda so far... Nice Pick!!
Here's a handful I picked up yesterday from my closest and most frequented coin shop. 1886 Morgan Dollar VAM-20 $35.00 1942-S Mercury Dime RPM-001 which should grade MS-65FB $15.00 1953-S Roosevelt Dime with heavy die abrading after a significant clash $3.00 1950 Jefferson Nickel ANACS MS66 $3.00 1957-D Jefferson Nickel ANACS MS66 $3.00
would this be considered under 50$ local flea market pick up 20$ for the 1878-cc 30$ for the 1903 -s & 15$ for the 1$ note
The cc looks ok to me but the 03-S looks like a cast counterfeit. Could just be the polishing and bad pics, but I'm suspicious.
i i went to a coin store that i know right after i got it and he said almost the same thing as you about the 1903 he said its real but something was done to it
$27.00 Heavy die polish lines on the obverse. They almost polished off the bridge of Liberty's nose. You can see the clash to the right of the bundle of sticks and olive branches above E Pluribus Unum on the reverse. I didn't see all of this until I received the coin. Of course closer to full bands would have been nice.
It's funny, it can go through some dry spells with nothing that interests me. Then, blam... They get a bunch of fresh stuff in that makes you drool.
99% of my purchases are under $50, so this is the perfect thread for me! It's not very pretty, but not too bad for $4 and free shipping. Plus, it's my oldest U.S. coin. It also has about a 70° die rotation (common from what I understand).
I'm not sure what this would grade, but I'm pretty sure it would make CAM and that's the only reason I paid $22:
