Die cracks have always intrigued and attracted me and you've got bunches on that coin. It has great eye appeal for me.
In average circulated condition (VG to VF), the Bust series is one of the most beautiful of US series.
I wonder if people loved it back then as much as we do now? Some of the recent US coin issues seem to be quite unloved, not mentioning any names...Seems like the Kennedy half was the last one that people really liked and admired.
I'm not sure people liked and admired the coin so much as they liked and admired the person. The coin has never really been used much - even though Kennedy himself was hugely popular.
I always liked the obverse of the Kennedy half, the reserve to me is meh. Love the Walkers, Seateds and recently have fallen in love with the Bust design. Franks and Barbers are also meh even though I am currently working on Barbers. Halves are always going to be popular cuz of the heft and size no matter the design.
