I have a Nebraska that I sent for attribution with the same thing. I was disappointed when it came back as MD and not DDR. I thought for sure it was doubled but was overruled. I'm curious to hear what the others have to say.
Hard to believe it's MD . It's the same across all letters and you can see doubling on cross bars of H and A !
Ok I've looked a little closer at this and it looks like some tripling going on here. Also everything I've read on doubling leads me to believe this is true Doubled Die. ( Maybe Tripled Die ?) Need explanation here !
Your coin is machine doubling. Machine doubling Looks incredible when the letters are incused. Doubled die on incused letters makes them skinnier. I know it sounds crazy but, if you study the hubbing prosses you will understand.
Ok another doubled buster! Thanks for the input again ! I wasn't really checking quarters but found this in some pocket change and noticed something strange ! Thanks !
Here is the example of mine that I thought for sure was DDR. I'm still holding on to it in case they change their minds at the mint.
Ok I understand how this is looked at as a MD coin but if there is tripling is it then called MT ? I understand how incused letters would appear different , and can this hub process cause triple lettering as all of the letters show in my coin ?
