I've found $2.50 in assorted change this week and 2 Canadian Quarters in Coinstars... Also found 16 dimes in a Walmart parking lot today... no silver, but found this 2009-P dime!
Once again I found a Wheat cent and a silver dimes stuck in the hopper near the pivot That was last week and today in the reject slot I found a silver dime, a regular nickel and a one cent coin. Will wonders never cease.
Can't let this thread fall of the front page. Came into the store and there was a line to use the Coinstar... I wandered around the store for a few minutes and when I returned, this was all that was left - sitting on the counter.
Been a coin drought 'round these parts found a stinkin zincoln that looked like it had sat in sulfuric acid. Anyone else have any luck lately?
Sometimes it could be good at the end of the month. If people are cashing in their change cause they are running out of funds. And then the time of the day is critical. I usually go early cause that's when I am out, but there's often stuff in there later in the day. But then you run the risk of someone scooping you before you get there. Sometimes it's good just after someone leaves. And sometimes, they are the ones who get whatever was left in there before they arrived.
I go to a TCF Bank and they have a machine that is free to customers that have an account with them. This is a great service and I use it a lot. Have never paid a fee for the other types at stores.
I just bought a box of halves (1,000- $ 500) from my bank and was very happy to find a total 17 Walkers and 3 - 40% Kennedy's , WOW what a find. Recently, did the same with no luck at all.
Nice going Ron, you got somebody's collection, or at least part of it. I would definitely go back to the same branch and buy any other boxes they have. There could be more of the same collection in them!
Passed by the machine on the way in, and then again on the way out. Total: 1 clad quarter 1 clad dime 1 Canada nickel 5 common date Lincolns and an 11 cent coin (a dime stuck to a penny) Left behind a few really cruddy, grimy pennies.
