I’m new to coin collecting and have found a 1963 double headed Lincoln penny. Does anyone have any information about this item?

Most two-headed or two-tailed coins are made after they leave the Mint, and are called a magician's coin. Do you have a microscope to examine the inside edge of the rim? Under high magnification, you should be able to see a seam where one coin is inserted into another.

You can see the seam on the second coin's picture. It's not a regular coin. PMD

You can see the seam on picture two right near the rim.

Magicians double headed coins, spy coins, hollowed coins.. They are all done after it left the Mint.

    I own one as well.

They thud when you drop them on a counter, rather than ring like a coin should.

I did think the first one worked. But thanks for the information. Ok, so do I start a new thread for each question, or do I stay on this thread?
