A few modern Asian coins I picked up

    China is pretty odd as there are some regions that still use notes for practically 1 cent or less. But appearently in major cities, that's not really the case although I wish I could go and confirm it. Or it just might be the mad metal prices that case people to hoard them all up? Thanks for the great pic - by the way, why is a Japanese 10 yen coin in there?

    There are three Taiwanese coins there too in the third row :)

    That's so funny, obviously I had not even taken the time to really look at them. While in China part of the time I stayed at the executive apartment of one of our suppliers. The project manager is from Ohio and lives in the apartment above where I stayed. He had a whole chest of coins that I went through to pull these out. I grabbed one of everything that was different.

    In that same chest he had a stack of 50 or so 1 Jiao's and almost as many 5's, I did not get 1 coin in change in Beijing and only a couple in Shenzhen. I kept buying thing in odd amounts trying to get coins and all I would get in return is notes.
