I'd definitely would send them back. But they should cover the cost of shipping them back. But before then, stare at them forever and drool over them if you so feel like it. LMAO
Assuming this whole story is true. Had they sent you less valuable product by mistake you would 100% send them back. Why is this scenario any different? Of course the company MUST pay for shipping. And, I would document EVERYTHING, photos, correspondence just to insure they keep their end when they receive the return package. I mean I know they will send it because otherwise, you just go through your CC company and refuse to make payment on this charge.
Why would that possibly matter? The simple act of picking up a bunch of graded 70s would seem to be enough for double checking the order for being so unusual
It's a sham and try to sell one, Not that the 70 point scale has destroyed value, EURO mkt, ,thinks so..well lets ask our friend over the pond..
It is illegal for them to demand the items back. It is also harassment if they continue to call when you ask them to stop. I would inform them of this and thank them for their generous gift. https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0181-unordered-merchandise
I had this happen to me once. Big time seller sent me 2 rare currency notes instead of my certified Lincoln's. The company had switched my order with another person's order. Keeping the notes would have netted me a few hundred dollars more, but I did the right thing and mailed them back (on their ticket). A week later I got my order. If I was on the other side of things, I'd hope the buyer would do the right thing..... even though I don't believe in karma.... But I do believe in fairness.
How is society ever going to move in the right direction if all people are concerned about, is taking advantage of someones mistake? Everyone has this false sense of entitlement.
Oh get off your high horse. These consumer protection rules exist because companies could pressure consumers into buying things they never wanted if we expected that buyers would return things they didn't order. These rules also exist because even in the case of an error as described in this thread, the buyer would now be forced to waste his time trying to fix the company's mistake. Plus, If he was expected to send them back, he would be forced to assume a great deal of risk to a) ensure the contents get back to seller, b) the contents get back to seller in the condition the seller expects and c) and that the seller will provide the buyer with what they originally purchased after the items are returned. In other words, these consumer protection rules exist so that he doesn't have to go through the stress or hassle of a,b,and c listed above. Speaking for myself, my time is worth something. And, I would have no interest in assuming risk in returning items I never ordered.
Sounds like you've made up your mind that you're keeping them. Hope you make lots of money. You've earned it, after all.
Not illegal for them to ask for the coins back. It would be illegal to bill (or otherwise demand payment) for the erroneously sent coins.
Doing the right thing is being on a high horse? I feel sorry for you. Your parents did a crap job raising you.
