Is it worth saving these dates? Some friends say yes, some say no. Any knowledgeable help would be appreciated.

Ask them why they say yes.. Your friends that is.

It they say because of the copper content then forget about it.

Chewmassa Now where could my pipe be?

If you enjoy collecting them it is. Otherwise just go on and dump them.

Other than looking for doubled dies or re-punched mint marks. But save whatever pleases you.

Save the 1968 S because of its lower mintage.

It may be lower in comparison, but 261 million is not low mintage.
Not including the 1969-S doubled die, I would look for the 1960 small date Philly as the best of the 1960's. And, there is a post about the 1965 double dot reverse.
