new prices how to figure out the prices: the mint based on $810.00 per ounce of gold. this might also applied to am eagle gold later on: here are the formulas: $810.00 divided 2 = $405.00 (1/2 oz) then 405.00 x 1.05 (5%) = $425.25 (mint bullion selling price to dealers) then $425.25 x 1.2 (20%) = 510.30 (20 % mark up selling price to collectors) so the price is $509.95. for proof add $20.00 to it. for american eagle gold series: $810.00 s 1.03 (3%) = $834.30 (mint bullion selling price to dealers) then $834.30 x 1.075 (7.5%) = 896.87 (7.5% mark up selling price to collectors) so the price for one ounce is $899.95. $810.00 divided 2 = $405.00 (1/2 oz) then $405.00 X 1.05 (5%) = $425.25 then $425.25 x 1.1 (10%) = $467.78 so the price for 1/2 oz is $469.95. $810.00 divided 4 = $202.50 then $202.50 x 1.07 (7%) = $216.68 then $216.68 x 1.1 (10%) = $238.34. so the price for 1/4 oz is $239.95 $810.00 divided 10 = $81.00 then $81.00 x 1.09 (9%) = $88.29 then $88.29 x 1.20 (20%) = 105.95 so the price for 1/10 oz. is $104.95 for $5.00 modern commem gold: .242 oz x 810.00 = $196.02 $196.02 x 1.07 (7%) = $209.74 $209.74 x 1.2 (20%) = 251.69 $251.69 + $35.00 (donation)= $286.69 or $289.95 for uncirculated. for proof add $20.00 to it.

The price does seem a little high. It may just turn me off the series, especially if gold keeps rising in value next year.
two more days i think i will not buy any of the 4th spouse gold. too expensive and the gold price downed.
next year spouses gold i think next year spouses gold coins should maintain or increase the proof version only. sample one: 20,000 proof, 20,000 unc. sample two: 40,000 proof, 20,000 unc. (the best one - u.s. mint) sample three: 50,000-60,000 proof, 30,000 unc. (it will be a bad idea) sample four: 20,000 proof, 10,000 unc. (the best one - collectors)
bad timing for 4th spouse i rather bid at e-bay on those first, second and third spouses. it is cheaper. the same bullion coins. those were below $500.00.
Eay to order I have bought all of the wives and will continue to buy the entire series of wives because I am a gold coin collector, not a dealer, speculator, or flipper scum. But I have to believe the interest is dwindling due to a $100 price increase and no "buy 3, sell 2 to finance the third" opportunity. Gold just dropped below $775 making the Madison coin very expensive and closer to the massive markup of the gold commemoratives. The Jefferson wife unc was in stock 5 weeks after issue regardless what the flippers on e-bay will say--due to massive cancellations of dealers/flipper scum. If you want to laugh check out the Buy it Now prices for Dolley...at least wait until they can't be bought from the Mint for the issue price!
4th spouse 4th spouse gold coin won't able to sell out quickly. possible take few weeks to finish the proof version. and the uncirculated seem few people like it. it might be really a dead series.
cancellation did you cancel your 4th spouse gold order. be sure to cancel it right away. or else you may be regret. it will be traded below $500.00 soon.
Is someone allowed to collect these coins because they want them or is everything always about flipping things for a quick profit?
I'm collecting all the proofs. I don't believe the mint will lower the price once they are shipped. If anything maybe they will drop the price prior to the initial shipment being sent out.
I have noticed the 90% of Jeff spouse coins on e-bay are a selling for about 100.00 more then a week ago
