I came across this while looking for silver coins on ebay and bought it, just like the 1914 dollar I bought (and posted on coin talk) I have no clue what this is worth, I don't usually buy paper money but when i see one listed for cheap I can't resist - I paid a total of $23 for it. Was it a good deal or was it just about market price? Not that I want to resell it, I always keep stuff I buy and I am just curious is all. 1.jpg 2.jpg

I'm not sure but it is a cool note.

    Thanks,

I think you did pretty well. I believe this is the same version of this note (same signatures) from a reputable dealer. The 1899 Black Eagle is an extremely popular and widely collected note.

I'm OK at that price. The folds and slight edge damage hurts the value, which would be very nice in good condition. This is still a beautiful note and prob worth a little more than you paid.

Good get. I have bought and sold many of these and they have been one of my first and favorite currency's. Certainly worth more that the $23 dollars you spent.
