A Rare(?) Septimius Severus Denarius from the Postal Commemoration Society (and a Trajan Drachm)

    I think that they are die matches and I can add another obverse die match but from a different reverse die. Yours is an accidental nice find and a steal.

    Thank you Doug. It is an honor to have a possible die match to something in your wonderful collection of Severans.

    FYI, mine is 17mm at its widest, 15mm at its narrowest (it is on a bit of an oblong planchet). It weighs 2.87 grams.

    Thank you for sharing this Martin. This is pretty exciting for me - my ancient collection is pretty low-budget, so it is really nice to have something a bit better than most of my others. That it has 2 die matches is a wonderful bonus.
