I just noticed this on a coin I've had for awhile. It looks like the hole was punched off-center. Is that the sort of thing that might be considered special or is that pretty common?
I was actually getting it ready to sell because I was thinning out my Norwegian coins a little. I didn't notice this until I scanned it.
Definitely not a common error on Norwegian coins of this period. I wouldn't expect to pay less than like $25 for something like this.
Thanks for the info. I'm glad I noticed it. It's a small coin and I'm not in the habit of closely scrutinizing my coins so I could have easily missed it.
Definitely keep it! To a modern Scandinavian coin collector, like myself, it's a nice find and is something well worth having in the collection. I would put it's value at $20 to $30 retail. On a bid board or eBay auction I would say $5 to $15.
