Hi all, This has been stuck in my craw for YEARS. And it's an abomination in my opinion to Carson City. They have a weekly article called "Silver Dollars and Wooden Nickels" and the goal of the piece is always good (silver dollars) or bad (wooden nickels) for local happenings and issues around town. My problem with it - THEY ARE USING A PICTURE OF A SILVER DOLLAR FROM THE NEW ORLEANS MINT!!! This is just blasphemous - especially since the newspaper is literally blocks away from the Carson City Mint. I've written a few times and received zero response - just into the junker. But every time I see it, it drives me nuts! I'm kindly requesting a private write-in campaign to help me change the picture of the silver dollar to a CC mint mark! Thank you for any influence you can help provide! It's long time that this blasphemy be quelled!
Say what you want - I made it happen! Behold the new CC Mint Mark Logo for the weekly article! I win!!!
Is that your coin they used for the image? I think you did good Coin karma and it will be returned 10 fold for you in 2018! Reed.
Not my coin - thank you for the good karma! I was just happy to see history set straight. I still find it impossible to believe that someone in Carson City never brought this up before. I only lived there a few years - but these are lifers that work less than a mile from the mint. They ought to know better.
