This person reached out to me personally about what he thinks is a 1942 ddo on a lincoln cent. I will give him feedback but I would like some help on doing so. Just go to his account because he just signed in and it isn't hard to find it because it is the only thing on his profile. Go to the recent activity tab. @McCann
Looks like a well circulated Cent.. I don't see Doubling. This new member should create a new thread just like everyone else. Maybe you can guide him or her how to do it. Just tell them to stay away from the "What's it worth" forum of CoinTalk
Hello all and Thank You Lincolnlover2369 for looking at my 1942.I appreciate everyone's help.It sure is a well circulated example.I took the pictures with a usb microscope and it won't focus on the entire coin. When I joined the fourm I took the pictures with my phone off the computer and uploaded onto my page.I'm still learning how to navigate this site.I will take pictures with my phone and upload them. This will show the entire coin.
Unless it is a "Biggie" like 55/55 or 72/72 where the whole side is affected, microscopic photos of the apparently doubled part(s) will get the most comments. It take a very large photo to show the minor dd coin. An excellent source of information for cents is found here : WWW.coppercoins.com then in the left column where it says " Search the site", click on ' die variety search', and fill in the info on your coin and it produces a listing you can click on to see larger photos of specific areas and also different stages of the die useage. Jim
Jim, Thanks for the information.I'm going to post full pictures of the coin.I will be taking them with my phone so the quality is not that great.I did see the forum has a good zoom feature. Also I did see there's an error page,I will try to post it there. Thanks again for you help. McCann
You will get better answers if you do not blow it up until pixels show ,as USB cameras enlarge images by interspacing "true data" with approximation data to fill the full image. If you can see blocks you have enlarged it to much. Most 3mb usb cameras are good for a 400x400 pixel image, a 5mb maybe 640x480. I know they advertise more magnification, but the resolution decreases correspondingly . Jim
