Are you going to be able to put one of the capped bust dimes in the 7070?

I like the 1834 best. It looks like a really well struck coin. Too bad about the toning. :greedy:

    Too bad because it's uneven?

That's my favorite as well but I like the look overall... just curious what your take was re: the toning.

If it's lustrous it seems it could be a candidate for a dip but I'd worry about the areas around the date and stars hanging on... maybe those were the areas you were referring to.

The 1834 should not be dipped. That's the way a coin this old should look!

I personally agree with that and like the look and crust as is. Just always interested in other people's likes/dislikes when it comes to toning to help inform myself when I sell things.

Too bad, because it had a nice strike coupled with the toning. More to say, C-B-D, got a coin that would be a standout on strike alone. Then throw some toning in that appeals to a lot of collectors(evidenced in above posts) and you have a winner.

Personally I don't care for the toning. But, I would have still bought the coin with the toning. A nice coin is a nice coin.
