Now in the comparison photo above, both the top and bottom ends of the 3 are very bulbous. The last picture you posted looks like the closed 3, but with the open 3 characteristic of only one bulbous end (the bottom) and the top piece which is similar to the open 3. Not trying to be difficult, this one does look more closed. But the 3 does not match the closed 3 from the comparison photo.
Well the one you posted is a repunched 3 and mine isn't different punch I'm sure.I will pull mine out again and get a close up of the 3
That must be a image issue...as the photos of the 2 dates are my coins the image you posted as the comparison the closed 3 is a repunched digit.
That’s one of mine. I own another toner, but don’t have pics. Why can’t we post our silver 3c pieces too? Unfair
I can see the 1865 lll becoming very popular like the 38 D Buffalo did here on CT. Clashes, die cracks, two, mpd....and for the most part reasonable cost wise....
Here's my 1865; no clash marks on it (excuse my pictures in this thread. I'm trying to do my best with my smartphone).
I only have one, an 1853, in my type set album. Maybe when I finish the nickels I'll take on the silvers.
