i found this metal detecting a few years back near downtown Downers Grove, IL, next to a tree about 3” down.

I’m having trouble placing the date.

Anyone want to take a stab at it? E8A07F94-D09C-4F86-B9F7-36A38099595A.jpeg A0FDA8CE-49FC-4E18-9B7D-B34A9A143F79.jpeg

1293 AH- year 17. That would make 1891 AD. How much does yous coin weigh ?
The obverse which is the second face down is upside. Try to turn it 90 degrees counter clockwise.

O.K. I think the denomination of your silver coin is 5 Kurush. It should weigh around 6 g. At XF condition it's estimated at nearly 15-20 dollars. At VF it's half this amount. Attribution: Krause KM # 737. Good Luck. I'll go to bed now.

No kidding! When I found it, I thought it was a car wash token and almost put it in the trash. Luckily I took it home and cleaned it off.....

I wonder are there any other metal detector/coin shooters I here.... I didn’t see a thread for “coins found metal detecting”.... haha
