Anyone know of a good coin collecting podcast? The coin show is basically dead (R.I.P) it was a good show. But clearly not something important to the host seeing they do 1 or 2 then nothing for many months.... coin week has a good one.. looking for more though.. any ideas? ? W
Well first of all, The Coin Show Radio is a good show and the hosts DO care about it a lot. One of the hosts had to put it on the back burner because of some personal issues at home, nothing to do with the show. They both decided they needed to take a break from it and focus on the important things in their life. @mikenoodle is one of the hosts and he has explained a few times on this forum as to what happened. You have to remember that neither one of them get paid for putting on the show and they have done an amazing job with it so far. Would I love to have it back to a twice a month show? Heck Ya!!! But I will be patient and wait for the next one. Sorry to come off sounding like a rant, but I took exception to your comment regarding the hosts not thinking the show was important. Mike is a really good guy and I know he wants to do more show's, but he has to finish taking care of other things first. As far as other shows? I don't know, but I will be anxious to see any other suggestions here as well. I will have to check out the CoinWeek show for sure.
More shows are in the works. It took me almost two years to get things straightened out at home. Some things I have been somewhat public about, some I have kept to myself (as in not even discussed them with Matt). Thanks for the encouragement and the support, Justin. Oh, and BTW, I talked to Matt today and we’re going to do some sound tests next week. I hope to publish a new show before month’s end. You heard it here first.
It certainly was not an easy road. I thank Matt for being the partner he is, for being patient and supportive, but always remembering that some things are more important. My family was, is and will always be first. Matt feels the same way about his. He is like a brother to me, and I don’t think that what we do is numismatically important, it’s just entertainment. It’s nice to know that people have appreciated our efforts. I don’t know if I will be able to put the time into it that I once did, but the podcast part will continue. The rest of it (website, FB page and group, Twitter, IG, and other social media) will get dragged along for the ride.
First off I'm glad things are getting better. I really do love the show... I never meant to come off as rude so I do apologize.
No worries, W. You’re good. You said what you felt, which is perfectly ok. At times, I wondered if we would ever do another show. But I DO care, and people who have spoken to me over the past two years have known how hard we have worked to create and build the Show. I wanted to stop about as much as I wanted to stop breathing, but as John Lennon said, “Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans.” Had it not been for the encouragement of some of our listeners and the fact that thay’ve never given up on us, we may have just walked away thinking that it didn’t matter if we did.
It isn't exactly a podcast, but CoinWeek.com has regular updates. They produce a lot of high quality material.
And you shouldn't have to do even that, at least unless something you want/wanted to do. You don't owe anyone an explanation. Best of luck with whatever issues you've been dealing with.
I just checked it out. Looks like I can get all of the back podcasts from the most recent back to #76 and then there is nothing (apple program). They last about an hour and 10 so I'll have something to listen to on my way to work! Thanks guys!
I believe if you go to the Coin Show Radio website you can download every episode back to the first one. That's what I did not long after I discovered this awesome show.
the website is the best archive as it has every show we have ever done. You can download them or just listen on the page.
Thanks for the info! I checked out the ones on Apple today just to see if I would like it. Pretty cool show! It only went back to 76 I believe so I’ll end up visiting the website and doing it that way. (Now if I could only find back episodes of a prairyhome companion )
I'm ready for my 'close up' Mr. Demille......... Life happens in the most extraordinary of ways..........glad to see your priorities properly poised Mike. Family first, and foremost, fini.........
Matt better have something ridiculously cool to talk about with the gap since his last coolest thing to walk into his shop segment. I'm talking minimum 1894-S Barber dime level cool or better
