Hello everyone, I'm pretty new on the coin collection. I found this 2013 penny that caught my eye because of the dark toned , I compared it to another cent from same year and they are very different in color. If anyone can give me a clue what could it be and if it has any major value? Thanks :)

I have this Lincoln cent from 1989 D. Is it double struck? 20160913_192402.jpg

For all you Newbies ( no disrespect intended)
Crop your photos and hit FULL SIZE image.
@Caliwiser I cant see your thumbnail photo. Most likely though being a Copper plated zinc it is DDD, Die Deterioration Doubling.

    That's a good pic. Some 89's have a reverse of 88'.

All those early -ish zinc cents look like that. Not doubling.

I would think that any coin needs to have good detail to be worth the effort of selling it. This one I have would not interest to many people, am I correct?

Not necessarily; much depends on the type/date/mint. There are many coins in similar conditions to yours that absolutely are worth the effort to sell. Unfortunately though, yours isn't one of them. It's certainly worth more than face (5 cents) but likely not more than a buck give/take tops as-is.

Thank you! I have a coue in similar condition in the 1920s so I know now to at least research a coin even if it is worn. Thanks again.

You would do better starting new threads, but in this instance it is not necessary. What you have is an environmental damaged quarter. Most likely a metal detector find. I have hundreds of them that look just like yours, @paddyman98 has even more.
For example here is some that I found a couple weekends ago. IMG_0001_2.JPG

Any idea what my 1943 steel wheat penny is worth? It appears to have a cud error on the "RTY" in liberty and the top edge of the "we trust" seems to be printed on the rim of the coin. I didn't see anything of note on the back. It's in great condition. photos 1-3

Also any idea if this is a lamination error on my 1946 copper wheat penny and/or of any value on this? the photos do not adequately show the actual copper color. photos 4-5

    thanks everyone, I'm a newbie
